Abstract
This paper presents an experimental test bed developed in the DMIA lab of ISAE. The main interest is to study human factors in aircraft control and guidance and the usage of active feedback devices to provide kinesthesic sensations to pilots. The experimental set-up comprises a complete simulation environment composed of a custom-made flight mechanics model and visuals engine, together with a one-degree-of-freedom active yoke device. The aim of the project is to adapt the yoke impedance to specific flight condition and in this particular case the guidance assistance. In the final paper tests will be performed using a set of at minimum ten subjects to demonstrate the interest of this haptic aiding.
