Abstract
Cobalt manganeseoxidespinelsMn3xCoxO4 (with 0.98pxp3) werepreparedbythethermal decompositioninairofoxalateprecursors.Theinfluenceofthethermaltreatmentsonthestructure of thesematerialsisemphasized.Single-phaseceramicswereobtainedafteroptimizationofthe sintering parameters.AprecisephasediagramfortheCo–Mn–Osystemisproposedaccordingto thermalstabilityandstructureofoxidepowders.Theelectricalmeasurementsonsingle-phaseceramics show thatlowvaluesofresistivitycanbeachieved.Theconductioncouldtakeplacethroughjumpsof polarons betweenMn3+ and Mn4+ on octahedralsites.Thesecompoundspresentinterestingelectrical characteristics fornegativetemperaturecoefficient(NTC)thermistorapplications.
