Abstract
We analyze evaluations of conversationalsuccess and how such evaluations relateto notions of discourse content and struc-ture. To do so, we extend the framework ofMessage Exchange (ME) games by addingweights or scores to the players’ movesand then accumulating these weights us-ing discounting to evaluate a conversation-alist’s performance. We illustrate our anal-ysis on a fragment of a recent political de-bate.
