Abstract

The goal of the Microtransat concept is to stimulate research and experiments in the field of autonomous sailing robots. We describe in this communication the first prototype Iboat, result of a cooperation between ENSICA (now ISAE) and IUT de Nantes. First partner was in charge of the equipment and control algorithms, second partner was in charge of structure and sails system. We give the first experimental results. Technical problems and legal issues are addressed. We conclude by the main technical challenges that can be addressed by this concept
