Abstract
With the objective of producing a totally biodegradable composite material, polylactic acid was filled with starch and the mixture was co-ground. Granulometry and morphology analyses have permitted to understand how the filler is dispersed in the matrix. The interactions between the hydrophilic filler and the hydrophobic matrix are favoured by co-grinding, what permits to enhance the composite mechanical properties without using a compatibilizer
