Abstract

A global regression model is established between bicarbonate river fluxes and different environmental factors. A relationship calculated at a global scale between bicarbonate concentration and drainage allows the determination of a transfer function between the global flux of atmospberic CO2 consumed by rock weathering and the drainage intensity. The fluctuations of this global C02 flux are reconstituted during the last century using the continental runoff variations.
