Abstract

The fluidized bed CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) process is very efficient for coating powders. However, its implementation requires that the powder to be treated has a good ability to fluidize, in order to ensure a good uniformity of deposition around each grain and to avoid any agglomeration phenomenon. This work aims to study the effects of a column diameter decrease on the hydrodynamic behavior of a powder of very high density, for different ratios between the fixed bed H0 and the column diameter D, and for columns in glass and steel.
